Ever been to a party where every guest has their own thing? That’s social media in a nutshell. Every platform shows up with its own personality. Some are loud, some are cool, some are chaotic and one of them is the person you didn’t think you’d want to talk to, but end up glad you did. Spoiler: that one is LinkedIn.

Let’s meet the party crew!

Instagram: The Popular Kid

They roll in fashionably late, outfit perfectly curated, already scouting the best-lit corner for selfies. They’re polished, they’re pretty and everyone secretly wants to impress them. They’ll tag you in a Story if you’re lucky.

TikTok: The Class Clown

Standing on the coffee table doing a dance no one else knows yet. They’ve got the whole room laughing and somehow turned a three-second story about spilling a drink into pure entertainment. Chaotic? Yes. Addictive? Absolutely.

Facebook: The Dad Friend

They showed up early to “help set up” with chips and dip in hand, and way too much info about the local community noticeboard. They’re snapping candids “for memories” and reminding everyone where the bathroom is. Not flashy, but kind of keeps the party from falling apart.

Twitter (X): The Loudmouth

They’re in the kitchen yelling about why pineapple belongs on pizza, live-commenting the night, and starting debates that spiral into politics. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes the reason you wish for a mute button in real life.

Pinterest: The Overly Prepared Friend

Turns up with a grazing platter so perfect it looks like a magazine shoot. Their nails match the fairy lights and you know they’ve had a mood board titled “Party Vibes” for weeks. You’re impressed and maybe a little intimidated.

YouTube: The Storyteller

They corner you with “Okay, so this wild thing happened” and suddenly you’re locked into a 20-minute saga complete with dramatic pauses and side plots. You may lose track of time but you’ll leave entertained.

LinkedIn: That Guy

You weren’t planning to talk to him. He’s in a crisp button-up, sipping sparkling water, and you figure he’ll bore you with KPIs. But then you do chat and suddenly you’re swapping ideas, meeting people you actually needed to meet and leaving with opportunities you didn’t even know you wanted.

He’s not as flashy as TikTok or as cool as Instagram, but LinkedIn is the one who quietly changes your life. By the end of the night, you’ll say: “Wow. I’m glad I talked to that guy.”

So, Who Do You Talk To?

The truth is, the party doesn’t work without all of them. But if you’ve been sleeping on LinkedIn, it’s time to give that guy a chance. The right post there doesn’t just get likes, it gets you clients, connections and real growth.

And if you want a wingman at this social media party, that’s literally why we exist.
